Katrina (Musical)

SUBTITLED IN FINNISH

Uncategorized

Young Katrina is tempted by love to move from Ostrobothnia to Åland to become a sailor’s wife. Despite being left alone in the poor cottage, she manages to overcome both external difficulties and herself time and again. Katrina’s pride and justice pave the way for her to challenge society’s norms and what it means to be a woman.

Katrina is a classic novel by Sally Salminen. Kaisa Lundán’s dramatisation and Aili Järvelä’s newly composed music now bring Katrina’s moving story to life.

Actor Emma Klingenberg and musicians Aili Järvelä, Ulriikka Heikinheimo and Senni Valtonen sing Katrina’s heartbreaking story.

Program & Press

“Djupt gripande teaterupplevelse.”

Svenska Yle

“Klingenberg on näyttämöllä suvereeni, häikäisevä.

Lilla Teaternin Katrina soi täysipainoisesti huumoria unohtamatta.”
