Snöfall is a magical Christmas story about Selma. She is 12 years old and an orphan. She lives temporarily with her strict neighbour Ruth. Selma’s greatest wish is to find a real family of her own. Although Selma doesn’t believe in Father Christmas, she writes down her wish in a letter. With the help of magical powers, the letter finds its way to the realm of Snöfall. Ordinary people can’t visit Snöfall, but soon Selma finds herself there. After her arrival, dramatic events take place in the kingdom. Who is Selma really and what dark forces are threatening Christmas?
We offer a fairytale filled with warmth, the spirit of Christmas and magic. Snöfall is also about Selma’s longing for belonging and security. About belonging somewhere – having a family. It’s about love and friendship and the choices you make in life. Where do I really belong? The show is everything you could wish for this Christmas.
Based on the NRK’s TV Christmas calendar with the same name, the play was originally produced for the stage by Oslo Nye Teater, where it has been performed for several consecutive Christmases. The Christmas calendar has been a great success in Norway and has been performed in several theatres in the country.
